TO MY MENTOR – PASTOR TONY RAPHAEL

I consider so many of my years wasted
not because I had no guide
not due to lack of guardianship
not due to lack of followership
not due to lack of religious activities

I consider so many of my years wasted
because my mentors were in books
I never had close interactions with them
Elders around could not fit into the role
because their lives also lacked mentorship

I consider most of my life wasted
for the struggle with most encounter
love was near but so far reached
care was seen but never given
It’s been a life of self motivation

I’m happy today
I’m celebrating a friend, father and mentor
the few years of knowing him
have made me so grown
in depths of understanding
this is a support system I have missed.

It’s his birthday today
I rejoice with unscathed rays
Though without a gift at bay
This I have to say
Together with friends home and away
To my mentor is HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

EXPLORE SOMETHING FROM NOTHING

It always good to be here…

I just had an inspiration this morning and I would like to share it with you.

The basis for this inspiration is drawn from the fact that a number of persons have complained severally about not having something to do…

It sometimes baffles me that despite months and sometimes years of joblessness, some persons still do not engage in any form of ‘busyness’.

It is a form of busyness that gives us a business. At a start it may not be profitable money-wise, but it takes consistency and dedication.

Elder Barr. Agholor once said that ‘Education is good, but education without employment is a social tragedy. AND lack of education with lack of employment is double tragedy.

You are educated, but it helps if we know that education is a continous form of learning, it is not about certification, it is about how well you can translate knowledge to benefit yourself and others.

To end this morning’s thought, let me communicate my inspiration…

“The earlier we understand that always asking for favour is another form of begging, the better we explore our God-given capabilities and ideas.

Therefore, get more educated and get EMPLOYED today.

Its your host …

THE CHANGE SERIES 2

WHAT IS OUR SECRET ? CONTINUED

I asked yesterday what then is the difference?
The difference is the attitude of the people, moulded for many years by proper education and culture. Majority of the people in rich countries abide by following the principles of life, which are:
1. ETHICS
2. INTEGRITY
3. RESPONSIBILITY
4. RESPECT FOR LAW, RULES AND REGULATIONS, THE CONSTITUTION AND CONSTITUTED AUTHORITY
5. RESPECT OF THE CITIZENS BY RIGHT
6. LOVE TO WORK
7. EFFORT TO SAVE AND INVEST
8. THE WILL TO BE PRODUCTIVE
9. PUNCTUALITY
All the stated are daily principles.
NIGERIA is not poor because it lacks natural resources, nature have been so good to us. We are poor because we lack attitude. we lack the will to follow and teach these principles of doing the RIGHT THING.

Let’s have a high spirited memory and attitude, shun all forms of vices and corrupt practices, let’s have a positive mental and physical attitude so as to bring back the pride of Africa…GIANT OF AFRICA.

The CHANGE Series. WHAT IS OUR SECRET ? A Collective Response (1)

WHAT IS OUR SECRET? – by Benjamin Offiong Ekpe

307-egypt_sphinx_giza_pyramidThe Secrets of nations is not the age of the nation, this can be demonstrated by countries like India and Egypt, which are more than 2000 years old and are still poorly rated as being impoverished.

On the other hand, countries like Canada, Australia and new zealand, which about 150 years back were insignificant, today are developed as rich countries.

It is pertinent to note that the disparity between rich countries and others is not their natural resources. Japan has limited territory, 80% mountainous, quite unsuitable for agriculture or farming, but it is currently rated third in the world’s economy. The country is like an immense floating factory, importing raw materials from the whole world and exporting manufactured products.

bth_IMG_5537_zpsada5b891Also, in the list is switzerland, it does not grow cocoa but produces the best chocolates in the world. In her small territory, she rears animals and cultivates the land only for four months in a year, nevertheless manufactures the best milk products. It is indeed a small country, which is an image of security, which has made it the strongest world bank.

Indeed, intellectual differences of executives or leaders or race has no significance to the rate of poorness or richness. Migrants heavy in Laziness end up being forcefully productive in another man’s land(rich countries)
